CATRADE Consulting Group participates in the event "Food Additives: A Global Perspective on Safety Assessment and Use," organized by ILSI Mesoamerica

Last January 26, ILSI Mesoamerica (International Life Science Institute- Mesoamerica) organized in the city of San Salvador, El Salvador, the event called “Food Additives: A Global Perspective on Safety Assessment and Use” (known in English as “Food Additives: A Global Perspective on Safety Evaluation and Use”), with the aim of exchanging knowledge and experience with health authorities in the region.
At this event, Mr. Edgar Tenorio, a consulting partner at CATRADE Consulting Group, was invited to speak on the Food Regulatory Regime in the Central American Common Market. He specifically explained the main provisions and requirements regarding general labeling, nutritional labeling, and food additives that allow the marketing of processed foods in Central America, complying with the requirements harmonized by the Central American countries.
The event also included the participation of leading international experts on topics such as global harmonization and international regulations on food additives, the risk assessment process, flavorings and colorings for food use, as well as sweeteners, sodium glutamate, and the impact of changes in food additives.
