Don't take unnecessary risks.

Before exporting or importing, make sure your goods are correctly classified

“[The Harmonized System (HS)] is also widely used by governments, international organizations and the private sector for many other purposes, such as internal taxation, trade policy, monitoring of controlled products, rules of origin, freight rates, transport statistics, price monitoring, quota controls, [...]."
World Customs Organization, n.d.

International trade in goods is becoming increasingly complex. New goods often emerge, as well as innovations in production processes, as a result of developments in science, industry, and technology. Furthermore, goods are designated differently, not only due to language but also due to the use of national or regional terms. All of the above means that the coding and designation of goods is viewed as a puzzle when it comes to trade.

Merceology is the science that studies goods (origin, nature, function, and composition) and is used as a tool for determining the tariff classification of goods. This classification has been rationally and systematically organized in the Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System (HS) Nomenclature and consists of a six-digit numerical code and a description of the goods with global reach.

CATRADE Classifies is a service package that seeks to support your foreign trade activities in customs aspects related to Merceology and tariff classification.
